1) The robots are coming! Are investors sleeping on robotics in favor of AI + SaaS use cases? Really good thread.
The optimism in robotics research is absolutely incredible these days! I believe all the pieces we need for a “modern attempt at embodied intelligence” are ready. At recent talks, I pitched a potential recipe, and I’d like to share it with you.

2) Shiva has been creating wonderful content highlighting the startup ecosystem in India. Subscribe to his newsletter. Highlights from this week's edition:
“Previously 95% of the class (IIT) would move to the US. Now there is a trend where 95% is not moving. They are either joining a startup or doing a startup.” - Anand Chandrasekaran
"Indian unicorns are sitting on lofty valuations with higher revenue multiples than global peers. Nearly half of the country’s 107 unicorns that have filed their financial reports for FY22 have a last-twelve-months average revenue multiple of around 30, according to data compiled by Moneycontrol, higher than most geographies, where such multiples are in the range of 15–20 for high-growth companies, investors and bankers said."
3) If you're done with "aesthetics" trope-larping, listen to this New Models episode with Kat Korbjuhn, creative director at Paradigm Trilogy Sooo many good quotes here from Kat:
"If you don't make sense they can't get you"
"We are not nostalgic for an Indie Sleaze aesthetic... we are nostalgic for a different backdrop from which creation came" 🤯🤯🤯
4) Interested in building your own text to image generative AI app? VCs.... beware investing in startups making this their whole offering...
I wanted to learn some basic ML stuff so I built this fun little SwiftUI app that turns dog photos into classical paintings. Here’s a quick thread on how I built it:

7) In today's world brand seems to be everything 🤷♀️ Nick Pattinson did a monster thread on his favorite design portfolios. If you are in the market for a rebrand check it out (or hit me up - I know some good folks not on this list)
I reviewed over 3,000 design portfolio websites this year.
Here are my top 20 sites from both independent designers and studios. A mega-thread of inspiration:
